Trev
I'm living in the Ramkamhaeng / Bangkapi area and find it to be quite dormitory. Is this a typical bedroom subburb or are there some nice clean bars and restaurants in the area? With the number of uni students in the area I find it hard to believe there isn't a good place to have bite to eat, play pool, and have a cold pint. JemJem
Hi, Trev. Here are a few places that might be of interest to you : *MTV Pub/Disco: Inside Ramkamheng Soi 24....when you enter soi 24 from the main road, go straight ahead for about 200-300 meters, you will see it on the right......It is a Thai style dance-pub kind of place...very reasonable prices.....no food. Open between 9 pm (might be 10 pm....not sure) and 2 am. *Orange Pub.....in the same soi......Assumption University students' hangout place.....near the corner of Soi ABAC....no dancing, just music CD's being played after around 9 and there is also a pool table....a selection of several Thai and a few Western dishes. Open between 6-7 pm and 2 am. *13 Coins Restaurant.....a really large variety of Thai and Western dishes at very reasonable prices....along the main Ramkamheng road, very near Big C, opposite the entrance of Ramkamheng soi 24. Don't know what time they open but they stay open until 4 am. Regards, Jem
Trev
Thanks Jem, some good suggestions there. I'm a bit further along on Ram... know of anything around sois in the 40s or 50s (even) or 80s or 90s (odd)?
JemJem
Nope....sorry. Don't know that side of Ramkamheng much. I would suggest you to just check out different places at night......I would think that the area is generally quite safe but it would be better if you go with a Thai friend, when going to a pub/bar for the first time.
