Cannot really say, but there are plenty of reasonable places to rent on Samui, anyhow its surely got to be better than Wales !

I had a nice modern elevated unit overlooking Big Buddha 1 b/r., kitchen, living, bathroom/toilet, TV with everything i needed 8000 per month.

Depends on your budget and what you are expecting from said budget.

havent been to Kho Samui in five years.

Here in Kata there are poolside apartments, one bedroom, livingroom/ kitchen, bath. Free internett, cabeltv, water hot and cold. Cleaning, sheets and towels twice a week. At 15.000 baht a month in low season.

A bit off topic, but I stayed in a decent new place in Katu during the high season just gone. was 8000/month, had swimming pool, large rooms, cable t.v, internet access in rooms, new bathrooms, balcony, and this was up on the 4th floor too. Bad location though, was behind Index living mall, near some coke factory. was really dodgy at night and lots of snakes during the day. I think I was the only falung staying in that apartment block too!

As much as i love Wales yes your right mate... i would take Samui/Phuket any day  allthough weather is supposed to be boiling this weekend !
