do not know i am am not an admin on the forum

sometimes i understand things do not get updated if forum is very busy

updates are turned off then back on

Just for balance sake I assume that the op will start another poll soon about westerners and cheating??

Also there is no option for the fact that you may have never been conned ( or not aware of it, like everywhere else in the world) so I think it is safe to say that the op has the assumption that one is always conned in Thailand.

Not a very positive way of thinking, now is it???

I have met more lying Farang's than Thai's and I am no Thai apologist.

Not really conned although many have tried, but more so offered a fast track way around laws, such as: buying driving licenses, paying the police for a driving offence without being booked, getting around health & safety issues, offered goods from the back of an employers lorry, given preferential treatment by government authorities for payments and the list goes on.

The whole system in Thailand is rotten to the core which goes way passed dishonesty.

As for being conned by wives and especially girlfriends, I have no sympathy for their victims as this scenario has been played out many times and lessons should have been well learned by now.

I am moving this poll from "General topics" to the forum "Farang Pub - fun, entertainment and Expat life", where it will find a wider response.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Not sure I understand the purpose of this poll....

... name me one country for which the question ".....*attempted* con...." would not solicit the answer "All of the Above".

(BTW: I have never been to Antarctica, so I may have missed something there.)

Been overcharged both in the UK and here.

But would have to be honest and say a lot more in Thailand.

In UK mainly by cowboy workmen in Thailand buying stuff mainly on markets etc.

So now just shop in Tescos. :) problem solved

What a useless poll :) I fail to see the point (apart from the fact that it indicates that the OP might want to consider moving elsewhere?)

I think you missed the one about Never been conned... got my vote! Doh its not there.!

I have only met one - but when I asked her why she lied to me - she replied - if I know lie you, you no believe me.
