Im a farang who wants to go to nong khai then cross the friendship bridge into laos,trouble is the thai girl im taking will not have a passport,will they still let her in?

Yes, but she need a border pass. Obtainable from any travel agency in Nong Khai. Some Thais even manage to get it at the Thai border post for a little fee.
