Shot at this weekends Jazz Festival

Canon 5D - 70-200@169mm - iso 200 - 1/60th @ f4

Some people think I post black and white because I can't shoot colour - here's both for evaluation please. :)

I think the black and white works much better. In the colour shot there is the colour variety that drags your eyes around the shot. In the B&W she sits alone. Nice shot, make me wonder what she is thinking...

The B+W is also my preference.

I find myself shooting "for" B+W a lot more these days. Coupled with my recently acquired 35mm film equipment I feel like "Benjamin Buton" on the Tardis! :)

i.e. going forwards in reverse !

Seriously, colour to me is usually a distraction as you say. B+W can only be the image content.

I remember someone once saying - " convert it to B+W - if it still looks good, then you've got content"

Agreed the black and white works better for this shot.

Haven't tried using black and white (not since I was 8 years old anyway :) ). Might have to give it a crack and see what I come up with.
