This is what kept me held back from buying Sigma DP-1 for a long time.

I too remember Olympus Pen film camera from the 60's and how small it was (isn't it a collector's item these days?).

Never in my wildest dream did I think they could fit a SLR size sensor in a body as small as Olympus Pen (if not smaller?).

Looks like I no longer have to think too much much over what model Sigma I want, or for that matter Foveon or micro 4/3, but what color grip I should get.

Anybody knows if the crop factor of micro 4/3 is same as standard 4/3 (1/2)?

I agree that the images published are not that impressive, I think the DP1 does better. A shame because it looks like a beautiful little camera.

But even DP-1 hasn't seen a new release yet (unless DP-2 is considered as one), yet some argue DP-1 produce better images than DP-2. I held back from buying DP-1 waiting for release of Olympus micro 4/3, wonder how much longer I have to wait till they come up with Olympus E-P2? I'm now more inclined toward DP-1 again and I'm expected to be in Japan next month, hope more E-P1 sample pics from production model becomes available by then especially from the manufacturer.

And why the 4:3 aspect ratio for E-P1 like compact??? Wonder if you have to trim the image to make it 3:2 (smaller sensor than Sigma Foveon?)?

I've held the camera on numerous occasions while on a short trip to Japan early this month. Nice design, nice build, but the sheer weight and size of it made it no substitute for Sigma DP1 and DP2 with much ligther and smaller body but with larger sensor than 4/3. Not a camera to have if you already have a dSLR IMO.
