What Do You Think Of New Toyota Vios?

Featured Replies

Hi,

What do you think of new Toyota Vios? The positive and negative points please? Thanks a lot for your help ! :)

I have the New Toyota Vios. Previously I had the Corolla Altis. I prefer the Vios, as it handles better, turning radius etc. I really can't find any negative things about this car. the gas mileage is excellent with 17 kilometers per litre on the highway and about 13 in the city. The stereo system is excellent, the air con is excellent. I think it surpasses the Honda City in many ways.

I had one as a courtesy car for 2 weeks recently whilst mine was being repaired after an accident. Hugely underpowered with a nasty, unpredictable gearbox (auto). Avoid.

Very good, but very boring car, like all other japanese cars. NOT strong at all. Smallest accident cost you big money, like all other japanese cars today. I mean: With my Audi A6 i hit a Cemet Post in a dark soi on night during reverse parking. The "BUMMMM" was bery loud, but the damage was minimal. The bumper wasn't even cracked, only some little marks on the color. Tailight was cracked a little bit. If i had the same accident with a vios, i guess the whole rear end would be f...k..d and the bumber would laying on the road.

Absolutely brilliant....... as long as you hate anything to do with cars, can put up with a puny 1.5 and a completely awful slushmatic, lousy versatility compared to the Yaris, looks that would make it's mother abandon it and a Toyota badge!!! :)

Sorry, hate most Toyotas - especially in beige metallic

Vios seems to be the most common car here, so i guess spare parts are cheaper and everybody can work on this car.

I don't think so. They are new now, wait until they are 10 years old and get electronical problems. A original outer mirror for a Vios cost almost 3 grand (not a electrical one) For a 1999 Soluna it cost 150 Baht. There is nothing cheap anymore with the new cars. A headlight for a 1972 Toyota Celica cost approx. 150 Baht. How moch cost a headlight for a Vios? I don't know yet, but it's not cheap, i guess.

Hi,

What do you think of new Toyota Vios? The positive and negative points please? Thanks a lot for your help ! :)

I picked the Vios because, for my size (over 6'2", 240), I am able to get into and out of the vehicle fairly easily. Other compact cars were not as comfortable. The negative - the engine is loud.

Put me in the old fashioned camp. I would never buy a car that has the instrument cluster in the middle of the dash. I want the instruments in front of me.

Thanks to everybody any other view? :)

NIce Car,

drove one old VIOS before and a new one later, and even race one in the Thailand Supercar Cahmpionship!

Spares are still cheap, compared to EURO cars, front bumper 110.-, head lamp 1500.-, front fender 800(!).- baht, crashed mine a few times on the race track, and it is easy and fast and cheap to repair.

The new one has keyless entry, a good sound system, cool to drive, handles fantastic, very small turning radius, economical and fast.

Japanese or not, a nice little automobile, that gets you around comfortably and reliably.

"handles fantastic" :):D:D . gimmeabreak.

Yaris is the only LOS Toyota car that handles ok. Vios is more heavy and too soft suspension/shocks. Comfy, sure.

I agree, love my Yaris, they handle really well especially if you add bigger wheels.

Really? Surprising as they have the same engine but Vios is heavier and bigger. What are the stats etc?

Stock Yaris is faster than stock Vios, same engine and gearbox with lower weight and stiffer suspension/shocks. Stock Vios is set up for comfort, Yaris more sporty.

Perhaps the race Vios have replaced some stock parts? The ones I v seen have no interior, a cage, lowered suspension with different angles and different wheels.

Stingray I ll join you. Its like 4-5k painted, replaced it once. But the Vios race guys are kind of sponsored by Toyota, so he might have payed this little for unpainted off the shelf

Still not convinced, I know Thai who own Honda and will never buy again but i don't know anybody having Toyota who thinks he will never buy Toyota again.

But maybe it's just me and people around.
