Samuian
Maybe, just maybe, Tesco would be able stock some things I miss sorely?Daddies sauce, English salad cream, Typhoo tea, Youngs ale, Branston pickle? Of course there is more. Why do the Brits get so nostalgic for their mediocre foodstuffs? I never see anything from the French or Italians, both of which have brilliant cuisines, pining for a certain type of Fromage or Salsiccia? Yet we have to endure posting after posting about some third-rate brand of pickle or some indigestible banger. If anything, the English should be discouraged from imposing their lackluster diet on the rest of the world. Well think some lose the plot and think because it carries the same brand name as the malls they have back home that they can expect the same stock - well, wake up it's Thailand! Here nobody really needs a "potato masher", or this UK Brand or that Label... simple as that! And then there are specialized Deli's (Top's, Foodland) in the Country, order a potato masher on ebay or let a mate bring one..! There are many, many choices... many - one thing so I have to agree, the fruits and Vegetables are sometimes "over the hill".... and bad quality.. but one can buy those on the local fresh market... I hardly ever go to tesco's.. once twice a fortnight...! But the Locals seem to just love it... Edited July 23, 2009 by Samuian
