July 20, 200916 yr I get a new passport. I have 2 month left of my Visa. Do I need to go to the Immigration and change the Visa from the old to the new Passport or is it enough to show both passports when I leave Thailand? thanks

At the border (with Malaysia) I presented both and was invited into the office where they transferred the details from old to new. The only inconvenience was the half hour delay I inflicted on everyone waiting in my minibus.
July 20, 200916 yr The permitted to stay stamp must be transferred into the active passport prior to being stamped out of the country. You are normally instructed by your Embassy to proceed to Immigration with a letter they are supposed to supply to take care of this. Although understand the UK Embassy will not provide the letter so you have to do without.

It's no great issue, but probably best to get it transferred after receiving a new passport - which is what I will do next time.
