Democrat regime censorship found unconstitutional
He did not say he was in favor of censorship. He was stating a fact that the first amendment is a major block to fighting misinformation. For instance people's health would be harmed if misinformation like this is allowed. "I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that." -

Democrat regime censorship found unconstitutional
And the reason for this kind of legislation aiming to combat so-called deepfake content is the example of what happened earlier this year in New Hampshire: Telecom company that sent Biden ‘deepfake’ calls to NH voters hit with fine August 21, 2024 The telecom company that delivered robocalls mimicking President Joe Biden’s voice to New Hampshire voters two days before the state’s presidential primary is being ordered to pay $1 million to the Federal Communications Commission. Under the terms of the settlement announced Wednesday, Texas-based Lingo Telecom will also revise its business practices. In January, the company delivered tens of thousands of robocalls to New Hampshire voters that included an artificially created voice that mimicked Biden. The message used the Biden catchphrase, “What a bunch of malarkey,” before encouraging recipients to skip the state primary and save their votes for November. ... Steven Kramer, the political consultant accused of coordinating the calls, is facing multiple charges of voter suppression in New Hampshire, as well as potential civil fines from the FCC, for his role in the misinformation effort. https://www.nhpr.org/nh-news/2024-08-21/telecom-company-that-sent-biden-deepfake-calls-to-nh-voters-hit-with-fine -

Huge markup on imported foods. Why?
Tops in Chiang Rai (arguably further along the distribution chain) are knocking out Vegemite for less than B200 a jar. Personally I prefer Marmite (which is more expensive) but that is a whole new debate which perhaps we should leave alone! -

Looking for a good map (or maps) of Koh Chang
I don’t look at maps while driving or riding. I look at a map before going on a ride or drive, and then stop when I need to look at the map again. And I really don’t like the satnav voice guiding me, I find that quite annoying. Like I said, I’m an old fashioned kind of guy. I grew up with paper maps, learned how to read them, and learned to appreciate a good map. Call it a fetish if you will. -

Elephants and other sick animals evacuated from flooded shelter
UPDATE Two Elephants Found Dead After Being Swept Away in Chiang Mai Floods The hopes of rescuing two missing elephants were dashed on October 5, as their lifeless bodies were discovered after being swept away by floodwaters in Mae Taeng District. The elephants, identified as Pang Fasai and another as yet unnamed, were found entangled in debris after being carried downstream by the flood. The Elephant Nature Park had earlier shared on social media that one elephant, Pang Fasai, had been swept towards a water diversion tunnel in an attempt to escape the rising floodwaters. Rescue teams and local mahouts launched an immediate search, but tragically, the elephants were found near debris in the vicinity of Sibsan Resort, Mae Taeng. Veterinarians and officials are on-site to conduct further investigations. The confirmed death of Pang Fasai, an elephant from a local sanctuary, has devastated the community. Prior to this, it was reported that another elephant, believed to be Pang Mae Kho, a disabled elephant also from the same sanctuary, had gone missing. The identity of this second deceased elephant is still under verification, though officials believe it to be Pang Mae Kho. Earlier reports of an elephant named Pang Mae Boon Chang being found dead were later corrected. The blind elephant, also from the sanctuary, had been successfully rescued from the floodwaters the previous evening and is now safe. So far, the flooding in Chiang Mai has claimed the lives of three elephants. Rescue teams continue their search for several other missing elephants, including ten untethered and aggressive males from a nearby sanctuary. Officials from the Elephant Conservation Centre in Lampang are working with local authorities in a race against time to find and rescue these remaining elephants before further tragedy strikes. -- 2024-10-05 -

Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028
Absolutely! Plus enjoy paying cashless when there is a power outage (frequent in my area of Bangkok especially in rainy season). Several times I've been in 7 Eleven or similar store and when the power is out, staff is right there with a clipboard, recording purchases, cash received, and change made. -
