I suppose this topic is really aimed at Admin and Mods, but I think a lot of people would be interested on the behind the scenes running of thaivisa, who knows, you might even get appreciated more.

Let's here the things that mods deal with that we don't know about, death threat mails, hate mails, thank you mails?

Does at least one mod have to be online at all times to watch out for posts that could cause this whole site to be shut down such as deflammatory comments about HRH?

Ok, so no pay, but any other benefits invloved, invited to private parties at Georges luxurious penthouse appartment and free Chang?

How do you get on with the other forum sites that are about Bangkok, all friends or a bit of rivallry?

And really whatever you deal with that we don't know about but you think we would like to read.

And no bloody moaning about it being a thankless task, you took the jobs on!

no death threats, a couple of thank you's, don't get involved with any other BKK sites, no time these days, the stuff that get's trashed is just that and I enjoy doing it.

i agree, like a recently appointed mod said after a week. Wauw i'm never gonna complain about mods anymore , guess he finally saw the other side.

Well some off us have some not (or not yet) , it ranges through the complete spectrum from a very wel meaning thank you or compliment, through to alcohol or drug induced strange and weird posts blabbering about something.

the best thing is for example in the tsunami forum with the news updates i had members scolding me for the gathering of news, just as i had members begging me to continue as they had a one point follow-up which sometimes was even quicker then the news sites.

All mods are not obliged to do anything , but most of them do this by heart and soul just to provide a place for others. mostly someone is online as we are spread out through different timezones.

it's not , but if you have to reply to the thirtysecond member coming to complain (be it in a well meaning way) that membership rules for bedlam are not like THEY would want them , it can get on your nerves

the reward is that thaivisa runs nice and a nice community for the greatest part of the membership. to bad about some troublemakers spoiling it for the rest all the time

i'm all for an open house but some people just take pleasure in interrupting things. well i can take a nudge and a joke quite well but sometimes it's way out there.

if you explain for the 36th time and you get the same remarks again one day later it can get to your nerves.
