i plan to fly bkk to kk on 15th august then take a bus to udon i arrive in kk just after midday . does anyone know is there a regular bus service from kk to udon and if so how long is the journey . would it be better to take a taxi and if so what would be the cost ?

Agree. Bangkok to Udon with Air Asia. If you must take the bus there are plenty. Last week I drove from KK to Udon airport and it took about one and a half hours.
