Depends what country, be specific! They are all different, I would suggest checking out your countries costome and excise web pages, and you need a work permit and appropriate visa if you are coming to thailand to purchase goods for export

...not if he lets another company "act" as the exporter.

The exporting company needs to have an import/export license. You can use such a company that will do it for you, no need to start a company yourself. Note that some products require a special export license, in addition to the standrad one.

By the way, if you do want to start your own company for export, it can be 100% foreign-owned, as long as you not engaging in restricted activities (for example, no import into Thailand or wholesale in Thailand).

To clear customs you need a custom agent. Usually the frieght forwarder that handles the transportation for you can supply this service as well.

As for European laws, it depends on the country and products. Some products have high import taxes, some are tax-free.

So better focus on product and destination country and check the specific requirements.

Please ignore my last two previous attempts to post a reply, something strange happened. Let's try again.

Can any one recommend an exporting company that offers a "one stop" door to door service including obtaining necessary export licenses, transport and customs clearance at both ends.

Thanks in advance.

You can contact Axel in this Forum. He can take care of most of what you specified, possibly with the exception of obtaining export licenses for problematic products.

Note however that for most items no extra export license is required (only the standard import/export card).

What do i have to do to receive this import/export licence ?

- Registered Thai company that has "import-export" in its objectives.

- Commercial Bank account of this company.

- if the director is foreign - work permit and taxregistration of foreign director

If the supplier you are buying from is fullfilling these conditions himself, the export can be done under his name.
