I Know This Can't Be True But I Need Confirmation

Featured Replies

A friend of mine has lived in Thailand for 12 years. He is now back in the USA. He is returning to Thailand soon. He heard from another man that if he simply flies into Bangkok he will be given a six-month visa.

I can't believe this is true since I've heard no mention of it, but I would appreciate confirmation before replying to him.

Thanks.

Roger

A load of Tosh.

If you turn up at Bangkok airport without a Visa you will get an entry stamp of 30 days. That is assuming the airline will let you on the flight without a Visa and a ticket leaving within 30 days.

Will get 30 day permission to stay (visa exempt) stamp on arrival at airport. But airline may not let you fly without having a visa.

Your friend is very wrong, he will only get 30 day lenght of stay unless he applies for a different visa from a Thai embassy or consultate in america.

Whatever your friend is on, he should give it up. Not a chance of a no visa stay of 6 months.

Is it legal on this forum to imply a person is taking drugs !

Who mentioned drugs??????????

It could be the local hooch. :)

Not only legal but a quite common occurrence!

It certainly is common. It's one of the more subtle ways to flame and get away with it. :)
