Cheap Layover Hotel Near Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

i've got an overnight layover in bkk, and want a cheap hotel near suvarnabhumi. somewhere in the 5-800 THB range and within 15 mins taxi ride. can anyone make a recommendation?

thanks very much

Over the past couple of years I stayed at 3 different places near the airport: Silver Gold Garden Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel (new and clean, but not the closest nor easiest for your taxi driver to find), Great Residence Hotel, and the Thong Ta (meaning Gold Paint in Thai) Resort and Spa. Actually all of them are only a year old, clean, and quiet with pleasant service. I will add though that the Thong Ta had very excellent staff on duty both at the airport and at the hotel. From the 5th floor you can see the airport control tower, although no planes pass overhead, so it is quiet. (It is located one block from the Great Residence...check it out on Wikimapia.) What makes it a spa, I guess, is the massage rooms in a separate area on the grounds. For about 900 baht you will get a Mercedes Benz taxi from and to the airport plus breakfast if booked through Agoda or a similar agent. I was very satisfied, and I will stay there again.

They have free shuttle vans between the airport and the hotel. If you are coming from downtown, then that's another issue. For B850 all-in, including transportation, it's not a bad deal.
