October 7, 200322 yr I would like to know if somebody got any kind of problems to get new passport or at immigration office after you went to embassy?? I got the fake stamp on my passport but I already went out to Malaysia, got triple entry visa in penang and came back to Thailand with this stamp the end of August becuase at that time I didn't know the fact. Problem is now I have to go out of Thailand again becuase 2 months passed already and I am thinking to renew my passport at Bangkok. So if somebody got new passport recently (though I think every embassy has different system), I really appreciate any kind of imformation or stories about it!!!! Thanks in advance!
October 7, 200322 yr siamy cat, I know a guy up North who was one of the first people busted for having a fake stamp in his passport. His passport was confiscated, and evenually he got a new one at the U.S. Embassy, but was afraid to go to Thai Immigration to pay his fine and get it stamped in because of the scare-mongers on this web-site. Finally, in the last few days, he worked up his courage, went to immigration and had no problems at all. He has paid his over-stay and has a nice, clean passport; Everybody's happy and it's good as new.
October 7, 200322 yr I'm not so sure I understand this (siamy cat's) post correctly, but here is my experience. If you have a multiple entry Non-Im visa, are in Thailand on the first entry and need a new passport you will lose all additional entry options of your visa because Immigration only transfers the latest entry stamp into your new passport but NOT the visa. You will need a new multiple entry visa in your new passport issued by a Thai embassy/consulate outside Thailand. I hope somebody can confirm this or correct me if I am wrong. opalhort
