I got my Thai driver license with my retirement visa and other doc years ago. But now I am no longer living here but come here often for 2 to 3weeks, can I renew my driver license (a 5 yr one) with a tourist visa ? I still own a condo in BKK.

Legally you have to be on a non immigrant visa.

So it will depend if immigration will issue you with the residence paper.

The Pattaya Driver License center is happy as long as you have the immigration paper stating it is for a drivers license application!

Not sure on other offices though, they all seem to interpret the law differently!

You can get the paper from the Town Hall, so no need to go to immigration at all
