16 inch brakes is that a spec.? :D

Maybe he means Tyre size ? But then the Vigo are skinny things

Vigo 205x16

D-Max 245x16

Triton 245x16

No idea if it is normal for Vigo drivers, but the odd times I have been at the air pump at the same time as a Vigo they put 40 to 45 in those skinny Things ?? :) ..

As we are discussing 4x4 here, my 2009 Vigo G comes with factory 265/65-17 tyres on 7,5x17 rims. The most beefy in LOS. Pressure is, as I recall, supposed to be 32.

Smaller/lighter/less expensive Vigos are available with 215/65-16. Thats a bit more chunky than most other LOS pickups riding on 15 inch. The 16 inch rims are neede to house the larger brakes.

Brakes, yes 16 inch is the 2009 spec, if you want the disc-size in mm, have a look at www.Toyota.co.th. Most effective pickupbrakes in LOS.

Should i be concerned with my recent views on the possible future purchase of said truck in the light of possible safety issues

Any body know if the safety concerns expressed in the BBC crash safety Report Tuesday, 26 February 2008, have been addressed by Nissan and have any modifications relating to the safety been incorporated in the 2009 models here in Thailand

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7264155.stm?

VIDEO AND AUDIO NEWS Crash test footage of the Navarra.

A episode of only fools and horses come to mind (UK Comedy show) where Del and Rodney are escorting two life sized blow up dolls out of Their condo block and ask Grandad to go get the 3 wheel Van , Grandad replies but i am not insured Dell, Rodney replies rather sharpish,,well dont have a crash then.

Nissan updated the software for airbags to relase at less impact just a few weeks later (march 2008). Nissan and Vigo seems to be best in crash 2009. Dmax/Colorado body collapses to early. Ford and Mazda have their "handbrake under steeringwheel crossing knee issue", at very low speed.

There we go, most of the post is about 4x2 pickups with 2.5L engine, so had no idea 'we are discussing 4x4 here'

OPs first post was on Navara engines. OPs next post asked for impressions on navara 174 hp which only comes with 4x4.

Thai trucks will never have good brake'n till they throw out the drums in the back and move to 4 wheel disks.

They they don't open up their minds to think, I just don't know.

As for the Navara 2x4 144hp 4 door, I own this spec and love it,

I only wish it was taller, I have ordered Rancho addalift structs (front) and shackles (rear) total 2" lift.

The 144hp will get the job done nicely, But I love to tinker, with only small mods being needed to achive 174hp or more

Tires are 225/75 R16 BFGoodrich Long Trails, ride nice and track true.

If you piick a Navara you will not be dissapointed.

or start with the 174 hp and chips it to approx 215 hp/480Nm at 10k baht. www.race-chips.de

I wonder if one was to purchase a new say Calibre 144HP model and get Nissan to replace the chip bringing it up to 174 HP same as in the 4x4 model. (Does any body Know?)

I would assume if you had the re- chipping done by outsiders it would invalidate any Nissan warranty

tiger balm

I have a piggy back ecu in my navara, you can install it in 5 min, and remove in the smae amout of time. what they don't know will not harm your warranty.

I can tune the amount of boost I want it to give., Up to a point

I have been to two dealerships for oil changes and both wanted to know what it was, after that they both bought ecu boxes from me.

These ecu boxes will only let you tune within the safe paramiters of the trucks ecu. Tune'n outside this will cause a limp mode or fault.

But better that ask another poster as he knows all

Yes, Kata you could do that but then again that is 4x4 not 2x4!!!
