Permaculture-guild Planting For Cr Orchard

Featured Replies

I own a 10 rai orchard next to the house on the river in CR; planted with a variety of Thai tropical fruit trees. I am interested in implementing a permaculture or guild system where you plant additional plants, bushes, vines, etc. around and in between the fruit trees. The idea is for each plant to provide nourishment to the other plants in the "guild". I assume each type of tree would have its own guild plants that would make the area bug free and sustainable without the use of herbicides, etc.

I looked through all the posts on organic farming and could not find anything similar to this process.

I wonder if any of you have tried this system; have found which additional plants make a symbiotic relationship; or can guide me to something useful for the trees of CR.

Most of the literature I have read pertains to gardening in England or the USA.

Thanks for any assistance.

James

Was that in "Farming in Thailand Forum" ? They have a special forum for "Organic Farming" http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Organic-Farm...-Kitc-f142.html

I think they are the best to ask questions to about this problem.

Here in Chiang Rai Forum we are experts in "What beer to drink together with who", "Where to find a special Single Malt" etc ec.

Welcome to the best Forum anyway!
