New Rule? Land Crossing Only 1 Entry? Mai Sai?

Featured Replies

A good friend goes to Chiangkhong to extend his one year multiple entry visa. A few days ago they refused to allow him to leave Thailand at Chiangkhong for the second time and said that there is a "new rule", only one land crossing at the same point per visa. In other words, you can't cross at the same point twice in a row.

Has anyone else heard of this new idiocy?

Are they applying it at Mai Sai?

I'm going tomorrow! :o

There hasn't been any such news reported in the various Mae Sai threads that are running.

Thanks much ovenman. I haven't been keeping up lately! :o

Hi Judge, would you be kind enough to let the forum know how you got on. I, for one, would appreciate it. Thanks

I crossed Wednesday at Mai Sai. It was the third such crossing in a row on the same Multiple Entry non-immigrant B. No problem; I got my 90 days as usual.

Thanks all.

I talked one of those nice hotels with a swimmimg pool in downtown Chiang Rai into giving their cheapest internet rate, so I am going to relax there till Monday. I'll tell you how I did when I get back to Chiang Mai, but it sounds like much ado about nothing. :o
