Hmm for that hard to beat romantic thing called "Shrimp Fishing", I suggest head on over to that forum called "fishing in Thailand" on here.

Theme Parks? You mean those places like Dream World, Siam Waterpark, Safari World, Crock of a farm.

Question if I may, what other kinds of Theme Parks have you experienced? This will help in determining whether we should lower your expectations or not.

I see. I been to some theme park in indonesia once, the rides there were fun and affordable. Not those rip off "branded" theme park. Any of those around here in BKK?

I researched and planned to go the Pratunam area for shopping, catch a movie @ Nokia Cineplex (Siam Paragon), eat seafood at Chinatown, walkabout at JJ Mall, visit the Niku jap rest @ Emporium, try some korean buffet that was mentioned @ TV as well. Read about so many types of burgers, feel like trying them out too.

So any other things that we can do?? Any advices for our trip?

No one here is a fan of shrimp catching?

Lieutenant Dan???

Lieutenant Dan? What is that anyway?

I somehow research and found this place. Sabai Jai a.k.a Baan Tawan Gai Yang @ Ekkamai soi 1. How do i get there, if i am not wrong there's a Sky Train Station around that area. Is that place within walking distance? Anyone went there recently?

Sorry mate, just being a bit silly.

Lieutenant Dan, as in the movie Forrest Gump.

It refers to the shrimp fishing.

Joke aside.

Yes there is a sky train station at Ekkamai.

But im sorry I do not know about the place you talk about there.

There is a restaurant on Ratchada around soi 3 or 5 where you can catch shrimp. They give you a fishing pole, you throw it into the pond and try to catch those shrimp with the really long arms with the blue pinchers. It's kinda expensive and you'd better order off the menu if you want to eat something. It was a couple years ago so I can't remember the cost per hour.

They have a regular pole and then a deluxe one which has a different float on it with an LED light or something. Thought it was just a gimmick, but the guy who used that one caught several and my girlfriend kept pulling up empty hooks. There's probably some trick to it like pulling lightly so they think it's trying to get away and then grab on hard.

It's on the same side of the street as the Fortune mall. There's a cabaret show nearby, although I'm not sure which direction and how far.

I think you talk about the huge sea food restaurant that used be there.

Huge complex with proably seatings inside and outside for 1500 people. All the shrimp, crab and lobster from big tanks.

I think the name was something like......Paw Kung Pao. Sorry about the probably pathetic try to write it in English.

The place was closed down in the wake of one the several real estate corruption cases in that area.

Anyone remember this place?

It was open to early morning.

Maybe. It was next to another larger restaurant, but I don't recall the complex being that large. It was off to the left looking from the street. All I recall is you sit around a blue tiled pond, or can sit at regular tables if not shrimping. But I had also been to a couple other seafood restaurants in that area so my memory of the rest of the complex is not clear.

Maybe you should try the all you can eat BBQ on Petchaburi (near Ratchada intersection). I think it is called "family BBQ" or something. 199B for seafood.

You can even catch your own shrimp..... out of the tank :)

MRT (underground) to Petchaburi. Then head along Petchaburi Rd (west in the direction of Khlong Tan) I think you could walk from the MRT in less than 5 minutes, it is on the left hand side.

Ok seems you are here on an "eating" holiday. I will divulge my secret seafood place.

Prakked on Chula soi 22. Minimal decoration, actually no decor at all. Just tables and chairs. You can either sit outside or inside in ac. The food is excellent, fresh yummy seafopod and very very good prices.

Was just there and had, 2kgs muscles, crab fried rice, some soup with fish, the raw shrimp thingy, some mixed seafood fry. Bill was only B700

OK, I'll toss out a couple you may want to try.

Oishi Grand Buffet at Siam Discovery

Siam Discovery is a shopping mall between the Siam & National Stadium Skytrain Stations (north side of the tracks an easy walk from either station).

The food is mostly Japanese but not exclusively. Even the food courts at nearby shopping malls Paragon or MBK are quite good.

Royal Dragon Restaurant, Mang Korn Lung

I have not been there yet, But it might be interesting. They are supposed to have good seafood. It was the world's largest restaurant. It might be number 2 now as Syria has number 1 now. Still, it might be fun to check out. Here is their website.
