New Backboards For Basketball Court At Benjasiri Park

Featured Replies

The backboards at the queens park basketball court are falling apart literally and I would like to get them replaced. Does anyone know any sporting goods stores or companies that could do it? Or who to contact?

After discussing it with some of the guys who play

regularly there they said they pretty much pooled their money and someone got it done last time. But they weren't sure who it was...

I don't know if there is a "parks and recreation" department here but if there is I will contact them.

The current backboards are just basic wooden ones screwed onto the metal poles, nothing fancy or expensive and I have no problem footing the cost because I know the guys who play will chip in

I have been visiting Benjasiri Park for many years . It is a great park and i actually used it for one of my major design projects when i did my landscape design course but it has never received the maintenance that this park deserves so best of luck with your quest for the basketball back boards.

I was there about two weeks ago for the first time in a while and wandered over to the Playground and I am amazed that this has fallen into such a dangerous condition. There are missing planks in the platforms, nails sticking up (tectnus being just one risk) rotten timbers etc, apart from some basic design faults like fall zones .

This is slightly off topic from the backboards but deals with the same park and it should be a warning - I, personally would never let any of my children use the playground equipment .
