Hi it seems that we (girlfriend and I) are coming up to CM or CR for the New year. Can any body give me an idea of decent hotels in Chiang Rai about 400-700 baht ( i'm ok for CM hotels). Also where and what New year parties are going on in CR, I would prefer a British style New year. Any info would be great. It will be my 1st time up north and i am so looking forward to it.

The nim se sing in the centre is 399 a night and if you stay for a week then you will get a 10% discount..Small breakfast included but not worth a mention..Hotel is close enough to night bazaar to walk or get a tuk tuk...The rooms are ok and have cable tv...are clean and it has a bar as well.As for new then if you want a British new year you had better make some friends and find Rico's bar. Its has many brit expats and other expats.Food is good and beer about the cheapest in any bar.You can message me at the time you get here and I could show you the bar..Note I get no 10%!lol...Any other questions about "The Rai" then message me..All the best Dave
