Rock Climbing (indoor) In Bangkok?

Featured Replies

New to Bangkok and hoping to find options for indoor rock climbing??

Cheers!

Sadly, that's pretty much the only option now (and it's way too far for me to go to from Pinklao). There is also a dodgy "wall" outdoors at Ramkamheng University, and a column at a Big C on Lad Phrao, but neither option inspires confidence or interest.

There used to be a great bouldering gym just off Thannon Chan near Saphan Thaksin BTS, but since they closed, I haven't bothered to climb. I've got lots of outdoor equipment for sport and trad, but I'm not using it because I haven't trained in 2 years (since the bouldering gym closed). If only my condo building would let me put up a wall...

There is a nice wall in BIG C LADPRAO (2539 Ladprao Rd. Wangthonglang Bangkok 10310)..Although it is in a shopping mall, the place is well maintained, a trainer (who worked in the bouldering gym of Chan Road before it closed) takes care of it, makes routes for every level...equipment can be provided. Cheap fees...Equipment for sale also (shoes, harness, quicdraws, chalk..). A very nice place to meet other climbers...

The one at President Park is now closed. Went there yesterday.......Going to Big C today to see how it is..

BKK2009 sent you a PM on who to contact regarding any indoor or outdoor climbing in Thailand.

Please tell all of us! I'd love to know if there has been some recent development! Simonfoley.com seems to have died over the past two years, so it's hard to find info. I wish Rock Camp would open a wall at their Ratchawithee location, that would be perfect!
