My 1 Year Thai License Is About To Expire....

Featured Replies

Hello all,

My 1 year Thai drivers license will expire next month. I was told that I need to let my current license expire by 1 day before I can get my 5 year license. Does anyone have experience with this? Do I have to retest in order to get my 5 year license, or is the 5 year issued automatically.

Thanks! Mizzi

Mine needs to be renewed too. I sure hope another letter from the embassy in BKK isn't needed verifying residence address! What a drag to have to trip all the way there again just for that.

I did not need a verification of residence address when i got my one year license. I do have a valid work permit though and wonder if this document is used in place of the residence verification. Anyone know for sure?
