Moving Music From Laptop To Iphone

Featured Replies

Hello All

I have a Iphone 3g. I burned all my CD'S (or downloaded) them to my laptop hardrive before leaving the states. Does anyone know how I can transfer them on to my Iphone or in to Itunes then on to my Iphone.

Thanks Peregrine

When I use iTunes (not often) I just open up iTunes, then open up Windows Explorer then drag a music folder from Windows Explorer and drop it onto my phone icon. Finally sync your iPhone and the music is copied across.

Open iTunes.

Drag your top level Music folder into it.

If you have ID3 tags, and I sure hope you do, then all your music will get imported into iTunes. ID3 tags is information inside the mp3 files that details artist, album, song name, etc. Any decent mp3 ripping program will add this info automatically when it rips CDs. If you want your music on your iPhone, you need mp3s with proper ID3 tags.

Then when you connect your iPhone, under the Music tag in the iPhone iTunes controls, either select "sync all music" or limit the sync to playlists.
