Massive Upgrades For Pattaya’s New Walking Street

Featured Replies

At a big meeting in Pattaya City Hall officials from most governmental departments gathered to activate new plans for improvements to north Pattaya’s new Naklua ”Walking Street’ market These include provisions for toilets, first-aid services, parking, police surveillance, traffic control and vendor requirements.

Pattaya, the 26th of November 2009 [PDN]: Our local government has seen the need for larger traditional Thai market facilities in north Pattaya at the very far end of Naklua Road. In line with this there are some rigid guidelines being set to keep standards high with al goods having to clearly display prices and no vendors to close before 9.30 pm.

This meeting was chaired by Deputy Mayor Wattana, other leading officials from Pattaya City Hall, and strongly supported by important officials, such as Khun Nitti Kungrut, who is the Director of Chonburi’s Tourist Authority of Thailand.

With such a huge success on the opening night, officials could see that there the Naklua “Walking Street” needed to be extended, and so accordingly this popular (300-metre) market will be extended another few hundred metres, almost up to the bridge at the far end of Naklua Road.
