Brazen And Persistent Thief

Featured Replies

Literally hundreds of tourist geocachers visit here and over last 4 years have written 1000's of logs about their "adventures"

This one I believe is interesting, but I must point out it is the only one reporting any kind of bad experience, so generally caching tourists have a good impression of their visit, well that's my perception

"For the life of me I couldnt find this container then my husband had a scurry around and put his hands on it within seconds!!! I just couldnt seem to locate it. The first attempt to find this container was not a market day and we travelled by the BTS Skytrain from near to the Ramada. We were surprised at the number of security uniforms in the park and people selling food from trays. Nice. This was a hard geocache to find. Our final attempt to find the geocache was on market day and it was incredibly difficult to get a GPS reading to my Garmin. I dont understand that. It took hours to get a signal???? That, and a woman stealing my bag in the market made the day rather eventful. The thief was only young and stole it by holding on to it and dragging me through the crowds. She just wouldnt let it go, and at first, niether would I. Eventually she janked it from my wrist and she and her 'friend' just kept on walking without even looking back at my yells at her! ugh! Hot , humid and very very tired and in total disbelief that someone could be so brazen in a packed crowd. Thank goodness my money was in my security belt under my clothes and the GPS was in my other hand. We left the market in search of several geocaches and this was one of the most difficult finds for me (easy for my husband) but we made the hunt longer than necessary as we seem to have gone round in circles for a bit. After my bag being stolen we had nothing to add to it so didnt take anything. There was no pen in it so I couldnt log it. Sorry :) We did go back to the market after the walk for fish (80 baht) and shrimps (150 baht)... delicious. Thanks for the find :D"

I like her +ve take at the end

I will be sending her a T-shirt with this pic....post-81211-1259469066_thumb.jpg

Simplified English version, run-on sentences removed:

We were playing a geocaching game (http://www.geocaching.com/)

and found two of them.

Then my bag was stolen.

Afterwards we ate something.

It was cheap.

Just another day in paradise :)

Actually, it was one of my caches that she found.
