Drunken Karaoke boy dies in bike crash

accident involving a young man on a motorcycle crashing into an electric post near the Chaweng Resort Pattaya, located in Thepprasit Soi 17.

Arriving at the scene the officers discovered a Sawang Rescue Team already on site and examining the body of Khun Ekkachai Khemnangrong, aged 24, who was pronounced dead at the scene. It appeared that the young mans body had been catapulted into the road after he hit the electric post head on; he had not been wearing a crash helmet.

The dead mans girlfriend, in a very distressed state, explained to the officers that her boyfriend had worked at a nearby Karaoke Bar, and they had been drinking with friends until dawn. With no sleep, and still very drunk, Khun Ekkachai's decided to drive one of his friends home and told her to wait in the bar, he would not be long, then they could go to another friends house and carry on with the party; he never returned.

It transpired that he had dropped off his friend in Soi Thepprasit 17, and speeding back, somehow lost control and crashed into the post.
