Pattaya, December 5 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On the 5th December, the Kingdom of Thailand celebrates the Birthday of His Majesty the King, who, this year, is 82 years of age. On this day around Thailand celebrations take place, ranging from official government ceremonies to small family gatherings. The 5th December is also known as “Fathers Day” and is a time to pay your respects to your Father. On Saturday Morning in the grounds of Banglamung City Hall, we attended the formal ceremony for the District led by Khun Mongkol, the Chief of Banglamung District. Offerings were made to 82 Buddhist Monks from around the District and this was followed by a formal ceremony involving 9 Monks which culminated in a Gun Salute from Banglamung Police who fired a total of 21 times into the air. Local Government Officers and Police Officers from around the District also took part in the event which paid homage to His Majesty the King on this special day.
