Great Place To Catch Man U Vs Villa This Saturday In Chiang Mai

Dear All,

I will be in Chiang Mai this week (actually from tomorrow onwards) and will be staying at Aruntara Hotel at Charoen Prathet Rd near the river. I am actually there with my wife for her birthday and it will be our first time in Chiang Mai. (am i even positng it in the correct thread?)

Highly doubt the hotel will show the match on TV and hence needs to think of a alternate plan to catch the match. It will be ideal if its walking distance from the hotel and not too rowdy.

Any recommendations would be great!

Thanks all!

Next to Stevie H I understand is a comfortable place to watch a match in CM. Be sure to mention how much you like LP.

If he is not in the mood, perhaps he can point you in another direction. :)

stevie wonder? stevie who? stevie what?

angustan, i usually watch football in tuskers bar (http://www.tuskersbar.com/) very nice bar with a very friendly landlord and landlady. not sure what match they're showing (they can show two simultaneously) but if you ask chas the owner he'll generally put on what people ask for.

thanks! will check it out. As the match starts at 12:30am, i presume the closing time for pubs in chiang mai is like bkk at 2am right? don't want to be chased out before the match ends :D

ah, didn't realise that was the late match, you might have a problem in that case. tuskers usually shuts before 2am, and the other main football venue in CM, the UN irish pub, closes at 1am on the dot. you might want to try the chiang mai saloon on thanon ratviti, they tend to stay open for late matches so long as there are people in there buying beer.

Thanks StevieH. the match should end at 2:15 or so... i'm pretty sure they could just let the patrons finish the game before closing up....

chiang mai can be a bit subject to the mercies of the local constables mate so i'd say that for a late finish match the saloon 2 on ratviti is probably your best bet.

their website has a map as it goes: http://chiangmaisaloons.com/two-locations-...tchawithi-road/
