Dvd Player In Car Won't Play Video Dvd's

Featured Replies

When I took delivery of my BMW 330D last year it had a factory installed CD Drive, together with a DVD drive.

The unit also will play television when the car is stationery. I would have thought that the DVD drive would also play DVD's when the car was stationery but it won't. Only audio and data DVD's.

Do any of you experts out there happen to know whether there is a way to 'override' the system to allow me to play video DVD's when stationery, and even better, also play them when I am driving along. (I would hasten to add that this would be for the entertainment of my passengers, not me.)

Could I take it to one of these specialist car audio shops and get it fixed?

Any info would be appreciated.

Yes you can wire it so that the system thinks the handbrake is on when it's not, most car audio places should be able to do this.

You seem to have missed the fact that the DVD drive will not play DVD Videos, even when stationery. So presumably there is something else locked. Can it be unlocked?

Must be region locked, is it a copy DVD? or from another country?
