Jojo75 Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Hi, I've heard that there is a "cat farm" in Rawai. Does anyone know where exactly? Is it a shelter? Thanks
stuandchris Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Go from Nai Harn, pass Don's leaving it on the right, round a couple of bends and it is on the right, there is a signpost on the main road.
hackerthai Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 What is a cat farm? I see the sign but never knew what they are doing.
chalongoffice Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 its on soi tri-star near the mangosteen resort
starkey_rich Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 It's cheaper than chicken at the moment
stevenl Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 What is a cat farm? I see the sign but never knew what they are doing.same for me. Pass the place often, but what is it?
Peterocket Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 A farm is an area of land, including various structures, devoted primarily to the practice of producing and managing food Doesnt sound like the sort of farm I would want to visit...!!!
JetsetBkk Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 It's cheaper than chicken at the moment Dämn! I thought that curry tasted a bit odd.
macahoom Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 It's not on Soi Tristar... It's on Soi Bert which runs parallel to Soi Tristar.
stevenl Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 A few reactions here, but nobody know what it is?
ScubaBuddha Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 >A few reactions here, but nobody know what it is? I've always assumed it's a place that either takes strays or breeds cats, maybe something like PAWS or Soi Dog. Someone should drive down the road and check.
Jojo75 Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 Thanks everybody. I'll try to have a look tomorrow, and I'll let you know.
JetsetBkk Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 It's not on Soi Tristar...It's on Soi Bert which runs parallel to Soi Tristar. Who is this 'Bert' bloke? Sounds like a Brit with a nice sense of humour who owns some land and named the soi after himself.
Singha Gold Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 The woman there breeds Persians. I popped in there earlier in the year when I was looking for a Korat. I am sure she does everything she can, but it was pretty dirty.
Jojo75 Posted December 26, 2009 Author Posted December 26, 2009 I've passed another one in Kathu>>> I tried Rawai and Kathu's. In Rawai it was closed, and I couldn't find it in Katu. I called the number, a thai lady answered and told me that the "cat farm" had been closed for over 2 months...That's weird. Does anyone have more info?

MisterMan Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 If you want a cat just contact PAWS or SOI DOGS they will probably even fix it and give it its jabs for free. soidogs.org phuket-animal-welfare.com
phuketsub Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Cat farm is kaput, but cat houses remain in abundance, although perhaps not in classic sense

I'm fostering a very cute cat and volunteering. Thank you for the info.
