How To Get To Phuket From Samui

Featured Replies

Hi,

Hope someone can help

I want to get from Samui to Phuket (Airport) by boat/bus.

Was going to go Seatran Samui - Donsak - Surrathani, but what is the best way from Surrathani to Phuket. Basically I want to avoid the lunatic tourist mini vans. Don't mind if it takes a little longer.

Cheers

you could rent a car from samui airport to phuket airport or even fly ..

have you been to the bus terminal on samui to see if they run a samui-phuket big bus? Think I saw some coming in when we were driving down to Samui last week

Big bus goes from Nathon to Phuket town.

You can also fly to Phuket.

Thanks

Flights full on the day I need +/- a day too. The big bus, will it drop off near the airport, just over the bridge. Any idea of the company that operates.

No, I haven't but will check that out tomorrow. Cheers Boo.

There are buses from Nathon to Phuket. You may have to change in Surat though.

When I got the bus to Surat Airport the other week there were people on the bus going to Phuket.

Every one changed in Surat town for different buses.

The company is called Pantip you can google it for contact detals. It will stop in Phuket anywhere you want it to on the main road to Phuket Town. Unfortunately the airport is quite a way from this road so a taxi will probably cost you more than the bus from Suratthani. There is one early in the morning that goes directish without changing in Surathani about 7am i think

as long as you get off the main junction turning to the airport, you could most probably thumb a lift there.......

I used the same company from Samui to Phuket recently. Yes a big bus takes you to Surat Thani however we had a 3-4 hour wait and were then transferred onto a minivan for the trip to Phuket. Not a good trip for anyone with back problems. Avoid and take the government bus.

I agree, that pantip is one of the touristscam opperators :) Looks good with big bus from Samui, but you`ll have one hel_l of a wait in Suratthani. They used 13 hours one time to bring me from Phuket to Samui, with two looong stops on the way and in a tiny minibus.
