January 2, 201016 yr hello, can anybody recommend nice hotels/resorts in Loei? (up to about 1000 Baht a night) Prefer a nice/quite setting (i like nature..) Im planing to go there for few days for visiting the winery etc. Thnks a lot flip
January 2, 201016 yr I stayed at Phu Pha nam resort in 2004. I am afraid it exceeds your budget considerably (about 3200 for standard bungalow) BUT it is truly wonderful. Teak bungalows. On the edge of a mountain up about 600M with fabulous views. Superb food. At the time two hornbills were in residence and would sit on the balustrade as you eat. i couldn't recommend it more highly.

January 3, 201016 yr Not sure if you want to be by the river but Chiang Khan, heading north from Loei City, is very pleasant. Heaps of guest houses, "Loogmai" being our favourite.
