A Country Founded On Terrorism

Both sides can come up with plenty of information to support their views and we all have taken sides and no one is going to change their mind. Why keep these angry types of threads going?

To be honest, I haven't seem much logic or facts presented by the other side to back their positions. Questions are routinely ignored, probably because they have no answers. Of course nothing is absolute so I'll say 10% of the time they have an answer and 10% of the time my side doesn't. :)

When is New Zealand going to give the land back to the Maoris?

One big step towards peace would be if the Muslim countries, with limited exceptions, would admit that Israel has a right to exist. Even the Palestinians have not conceded the right to exist for the Israelis.

What say you anti-US types? Does Israel have the right to exist?

Define "Israel". Define it's borders pre 1967. Define Israel pre 1947. Define it now. Define Israel pre 1947 in the context of it's populace.

Define Israel, in it's manifestations I've mentioned above before I will answer.

Thank you for actually proving you have no answers, only questions. You really can't seem to come to grips with even the simplest of questions.

This thread is turning into a joke as well.

Your rationale is ludicrous. What proof do you have that I have no answers? Silly way of rebutting....but never mind.

My questions relate to refining YOUR question as the various answers you might provide will get varying answers.

Since you don't seem to know, "Israel" has changed shape since it's formation after WW11, certainly it has occupied more land and it's citizens have set up home in more places since then, so the question of it's right to exist relies heavily on "what is Israel?" in the context of it's borders and it's occupancy, with regard to chronology.

Your questions relate to avoiding having to give an answer. This is just more obfuscation on your part.

My question remains..,.Does Israel have the right to exist?

What about you other liberals? Anybody care to provide an answer?

peaceblondie has already pretty much said no. :)
And I'm almost as conservative as the Amish, so the usual PC excuse is out the window. Where's the Genghis Khan-Charlie Manson Party when you need it? :D

Anyone who is gay and does not recognize Israel's right to exist is about as PC as you can get. Don't fool yourself. :)

You never heard of Log Cabin Republicans? Where did I say Israel has no right to exist as Jews?. I think we should have offered them a homeland in Pocatello or Brownsville, Montevideo or Tapachula.

UG could you provide us with a map that shows the land that was originally designated to Israel and what it claims now?

I have no problems recognizing Israel if they would stick to the portion of land that was designated to them originally.

My questions remain to be able to answer your question properly. This is not obfuscation.

This is just more prevarication on your part. I suspect you don't like to commit to an answer that will define Israel because whatever definition will have inherant traps in it.

Alex Lah's recent post above alludes to what I am talking about.

What part of this do you not understand?

"Does Israel have the right to exist?"

There are only two words in the question with multiple syllables. They seem to be the words that are giving you the most trouble. Google them if you have any questions.

This isn't a trick question, but it seems to have dumbfounded some of you.

My answer is, "Yes".

Didn't you read the sign?

DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS!

Since you want to, once again, just impugn people's intelligence......... 2 words, each of 2 syllables: Define Israel.

You say "Yes"....but "yes" to what?

If your question is so simple, and you are so smart....why don't you just humour silly old me and answer my question by defining the nation by it's borders and where it's citizens enjoy living? Israel of 1949, 1968, or today including the areas of the West Bank and East Jerusalem that it is occupying?

Humour me.

Humoring you is not really very high on my list of priorities.

The way I see the solution to your problem with my question, you can either simply say "No, Israel does not have a right to exist.", or you can say, "Yes, Israel has the right to exist but under the following conditions, parameters, etc.".

Now is that really so hard to do?

edited for typos.

Is answering my question really so hard to do?

When you asked what appeared to be a simple question with a yes or no answer, I didn't want to answer with qualifications.

I'll just mark you down as incapable of answering.

You may now go back to sleep.

Univ. of Texas at UT has great maps. Millions of maps.

Israel has a right to exist. I think many/most Palestinians agree. Likewise, many/most Israelis agree that Palestine has a right to exist.

Welcome back PeaceBlonde. You seem much more yourself today. I apologize for anything said in the passion of the moment. :)

Harcourt, if I ever get bored enough I'll go through the threads and find all the questions you have refused to answer. The list would probably eat up too much bandwidth though and get deleted by a mod so I won't bother.

Likewise, my apologies. Let's do lunch.

Weren't all countries founded on theft, war, terror, deceit, etc. ? Now, instead of countries, we call them "economic blocs".

Not all; Russia was founded by my great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather, Rurik in 862. (30 gens back) He was invited over from Jutland (Danemark) to be the king of the slavs.

The Mongols took over for a short time, married with our lot...Russia became a vassal state, and then later Rurik's lot regained full control.

Strangely turns out Chiang Mai - Lanna kingdom also had to pay tribute to Genghis! - Probably have 'cousins' here!

Russia is now back to its medieval borders. (of course it still has bases in its sphere of influence!)

I've just downloaded 'How the west was won' never seen it.. hope it's good.
