Hi, I have a couple of questions:

How long does it generally take to change a 60-day tourist visa to a non-immigrant B visa in Bangkok? (and the extension from 90 days to 12 months?).

Once I receive the non-immigrant visa, how sure can I be of successfully receiving a work permit (another teacher has already gotten one through our school).

I have all of the required documents for myself and the school - does anyone from the school need to be present when I go and apply for the visa?

Cheers guys!

From what I have read on this forum, immigration will not change your visa status from a tourist visa to a non-B visa. Therefore, while in Thailand on your tourist visa you should apply for the work permit and then with the receipt for the work permit application and the necessary heap of paper from your prospective employer go to a Thai consulate in the region to get your non-B visa. Back in Thailand, you then pick up the work permit when it is ready.
