People here are not family, they really don't give a stuff if we live, die or have hours of our toils suddenly stripped away.

With regards to the live or die thing, i think you are completely wrong. Evidence can be found to the contrary all over the forum - well on the good days. :)

With regards to the toils stripped away thing, yes i don't think anyone really gives a crap, probably not even your family - well certainly not mine anyway.

I think that it was the posters who went ballistic over losing a post count - that does matter at all - who are at fault here and they should admit that they acted immaturely and apologize to the mods, admin and the other members of the forum - instead of demanding to be “appreciated” - but who am I to bitch?

I'm going to re-post my explanation of the events here in case it was missed. There was no "administrative error" and members were given an explanation when asked even before the complete repair was done, which took between 2-3 days as it had to be carefully done as a full restore was done from a backup. I have to give a thumbsup to Thaivisa IT for the effort he had given in getting it back with extremely little loss in posts or newly signed up members and with very little noticeable effect to members in Thaivisa operation (except a few who won't accept what has happened even though explained with transparency).

This topic is just going in circles now and as such am closing it. Any problems with this decision contact support[at]thaivisa.com.

Bit of a broken record here it seems.

Regarding the post asking as to why they were not given advanced notice - simple, it wasn't planned as it was a corruption of the database and had to be repaired. This was done by a complete manual recount of posts based on the aforementioned criteria.

Posts have not been deleted, just the post count has been redone as stated above.

The deleted post from forum support is due to it pointing to the Bedlam forum which would be a dead link to many/most members.

There is no conspiracy, no manipulation being done for SEO purposes, nothing nefarious at all except for a corrupted database which took our main IT guy a long time trying to get back up to some norm.

Some mods and admins have lost post counts also so it is not "targeted" to members only, it was across the board.

//edit - I estimate I lost a couple hundred posts counts also.
