Do Thai people need a visa to get to Singapore?

Correct also, single women will get a hard time - best to get a letter of sponsorship from someone especially if making repeat trips, and can get really messy if making more than about 5-6.

(My g/f was travelling with me when i was working there last year, and as we were not married, she could only get 30 day max stamps, so had to keep going back to t/l.)

Many cases of Thai ladys "loosing" their passports if they get too many stamps, and needing a new "clean" one.

Just a thought on the Cambodia issue,i have taken my partner their when i needed a visa run and have stayed a couple of nights at the casino and she did not have or needed to get a visa,possibly because she stayed in no mans land and never ventured past the Cambodian entry and exit stamp places.

Allthough she did wait with me while i got my stamp/visa at the first place where you get your visa before you get to the casinos.

lopburi3, so a Thai needs a visa for Cambodia? That is strange as my Vietnamese patner just waltzes in and out with only the entry/exit stamps.

I apologise for the wrong info, but I assumed that ASEAN members were free to travel between member states.

However, having said that I'm finding it also ain't true with "Sparkling" Korea, trying to take her to Seoul the "R"Soul of Asia.

But then it grieves me the numbers of good men who died for the freedom of South Korea and who now get no thanks.

Thai's get visas on arrivals like most other nationalites into Cambo....ie you pay cash and they give you a stamp. Only a few ASEAN countries get visa free access: VN, Malaysia and Singapore from memory. The only place Thai's can go without any formalities is the Casino's just over the border in Cambodia. Most other nationalities are required to be stamped in before they can get in.

Yes I've learnt that about Korea, I thought they were a member but maybe I'm getting confused with APEC.

I truely don't want to go to Seoul as it has absolutley no saving graces but it does hold $8,000 of mine in a bank account so that kind of smoothes over the rough.

I had already cleared the passport desk and had to come back to say he was my husband and we were in Singapore for a short holiday. All smiles and apologies then.

Ha!Ha!Ha!they might be quizzed,you say?They might be send back on the same flight(if its TG coming back),it happens all the time.

If this is her first trip to Singapore - better go together and make sure,that ticket is OK(it may be to next country,not return)

and(she will love it):a thousand bucks in her wallet ready to show(very handy for shopping later - do not expect it back!).

I doubt that's going to happen. Thailand has a difficult time keeping out illegal workers from neighboring countries and the Philippines.

As far as getting in is concerned, they don't need visas for a 21 - 30 day stay.

That's what my Thai g/f and I did last month when we visited Singapore for a few days. Not a word and we went right through. No problem.
