My wife has been a good partner and I have rewarded her appropriately.

If you see nothing wrong with this statement, I see no point to carry on a constructive discourse.

It is all about interpretation, but it is not really our business to judge a spousal relationship that we know nothing about. :)

I find it interesting the Liberals on this forum seem to think I have used an incorrect word, "reward".

I also seem to remember the same Liberals calling me foolish when I was pointing out Mr. Harcourt's many misspelled words after he bragged about his massive vocabulary. Hypocrite is a word that comes to mind in this situation.

As for the rest of you, silence on my use of a word YOU consider inappropriate would be appreciated.

My wife reads and writes English and is fluent in the language. If she doesn't object to the use of the word, what right do you people have to voice your objection?

As I see it, you have two choices. Either stop reading my posts or place me on "Ignore". I will not be distressed if either event occurs.

You are a spinmeister of the lowest degree. I have never bragged about my vocabulary, and certainly never

even hinted that it was massive. In fact, I have been modest about it since I think it is only a normal vocab....it has always been YOU that points out my vocab, and in so doing showing you must be in awe of it (you seem to think it's massive, lol), thus own mediocrity. Only YOU.

Why do you even attempt such pathetic spin? It's all verifiably untrue.

Thinking about it more, instead of accusing you of spin, I'm tempted to say you blatantly lie.

Yes....you are a liar.

Place you on ignore? So that you can post your lies and spin without being pulled up? Hahaha....you'd like that.

Carry on rewarding/paying your wife for duties performed.....it is not my business.

Hmmmm. Just when I was going to compliment you on cleaning up the spelling mistakes in your posts, you call me a "liar".

Not nice, Mr. Harcourt.

If the cap fits...

No response to the actual meat of my allegation....I wonder why? No...I don't wonder...it's is not a suprise.

Once again, you can only talk, with any certainty and confidence, about spelling.

Why not address the issues at hand, instead?

Mr. Harcourt:

The issue at hand is how your wife feels about herself. I have addressed that in full clarity, yet have to defend that explanation to some of our more liberal friends on the forum.

I am assuming you have a Thai wife so why don't you post something about how your wife feels about herself?

I'm certain we are all interested in what you have to say about the subject matter of this thread. :)

<snip> I have addressed that in full clarity,<snip>

The course that this thread has taken clearly suggests otherwise.

Must try harder. D-

I am more interested in how you respond to my allegation that you lie. Thems fightin' words; It's a big allegation.....one that I would have to ban myself from this forum for a suitably long time in penance, if I "mis-spoke".

(Or be banned for by the authorities).

Do you have enough honour to do the same?

(Thanks, Hilary, for that excellent euphamism).

Again you refer to my use of "Chucky" as "name-calling". Again I point out that it is hardly "name-calling" and certainly not derogatory. If you really consider yourself "above that", why do you respond in kind to "Harry"?

I lowered the tone of our discourse, and I apologised and refrained thereafter.

You then brought the antagonism back with your peurile gaffawing emoticon instead of actually saying something.

Laugh in someone's face, expect to get a slap.

I am sure you do not honestly think that I needed the definition of "impugn"....therefore I conclude that you initially googled the word to correct your own ignorance, and decided to try to make a slight towards me since you had the information at hand and it was novel to you. You should not judge others by your self. We do not all have such a limited vocabulary.

Just when I thought the tone of our little corner of the forum was improving. Oh, well.

I couldn't resist clicking "read this post" on that one since it seemed to be a direct response.

Yes, it has degenerated. I waved the white flag to Chucky and he decided to shoot it out of my hand. As for Maccaroni....I still can't get over his admission of his proclivity to rape school boys, so every time he aggravates, I respond. I don't abide by child rapists, so he gets on my nerves.

I would have preferred to keep it all civil, too.

Harry, Harry, Harry. Why must you resort to name calling? Is it because you have been found to be fallible and this knowledge has somehow destroyed what little self-esteem you had remaining and you can only strike out in anger and name calling?

How, exactly, did I shoot the white flag of surrender out of your hand? Did I impugn your integrity or obvious good standing with those that know little? Did I call you a name?

I could have called you a sheep shagging Kiwi, but I haven't. I am not certain you are a Kiwi so I am refraining from getting into that area. I consider myself above that.

A little more self restraint on your part seems to be called for.

PS: I Googled this for you:

im⋅pugn  /ɪmˈpyun/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [im-pyoon] Show IPA

Use impugn in a Sentence

See web results for impugn

See images of impugn–verb (used with object)

1. to challenge as false (another's statements, motives, etc.); cast doubt upon.

2. Archaic. to assail (a person) by words or arguments; vilify.

3. Obsolete. to attack (a person) physically.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Origin:

1325–75; ME impugnen < MF impugner < L impugnāre to attack, equiv. to im- im- 1 + pugnāre to fight, deriv. of pugnus fist; see pugnacious

I am only here to help.

Er...um...by the way, both the words "peurile" and "gaffawing" are just a teensy bit wrong.

I believe the words you are looking for are spelled "puerile guffawing".

Do you also think people with such a vast vocabulary should be able to correctly spell their words?

Have I earned another slap?

Again, the only factual things you can pull me up on are spelling. It really is sad that you are arguing for the US but your only arguments are with your detractor's spelling.

Do you claim that dyslexics will have a small vocabulary or are unintelligent?

I'm still waiting on you to respond to my question about your waving of the white surrender flag and my shooting it out of your hand.

You should know, however, when you place yourself on a pedestal claiming superior knowledge, you had better not make some silly mistake. It WILL be pointed out to you, if for no other reason than to deflate your oversized ego.

I do not claim dyslexics possess either a limited vocabulary or are not intelligent. What does that question have to do with the current discussion?

You really should try and concentrate on a single subject with each post. Your mind tends to ramble around.

I waived a white flag of truce last week and got it shot out of my hand by Harcourt. Of course, he had just put me on his ignore list and didn't know what I was posting (I assume he didn't anyway).

Your posts are full of wacky socialist stereotypes and stream of consciousness insights that make sense to no one but you and you do not even bother to try to explain them. You tell the reader to figure them out. We are niot mind readers and there are few actual facts to dispute.

If you really have dyslexia, you should understand that other than an irrational hatred for the U.S. and Israel and a sympathetic shoulder for terrorists, most of what you are trying to say, does not compute.

Happy now, Moonraker?

you expect me to read ALL that? :)

No need for cat fights. I'll leave that for the ladies. :D

Everyone who is secure in who they are will be better partners (married or not) and have a more solid relationship with EVERYONE... whether male or female. Confident people tend to attract others of either sex.

I wonder how the ladies on here would feel about being "rewarded appropriately" for being a good partner.

Wives, as well as husbands, get rewarded in many ways, other than financial, for being a good partner. And, there is more to being a good partner than just being a toadie and going along with whatever the other partner suggests. It can be as simple as keeping yourself fit, clean and attractive, and attentive to the partner's needs.

Ian.

That makes perfect sense and I agree with you completely, as I think that most others would. It has been suggested to chuck that perhaps he should reconsider his phrasing and he has been given opportunities throughout this thread to better explain himself. Perhaps you have just done it for him.

No chuck, it doesn't suffice at all. Me concluding that your vocab must be limited is not at all "bragging about my massive vocab".

All your research has produced is a reminder that YOU are the antagonist here, I simply respond.

My wife has been a good partner and I have rewarded her appropriately.

If you see nothing wrong with this statement, I see no point to carry on a constructive discourse.

It is all about interpretation, but it is not really our business to judge a spousal relationship that we know nothing about. :)

I agree it is about interpretation and my interpretation is obvious, but someone else's interpretation is also obvious and so I see no reason to continue a fruitless discussion, furthermore, I am not judging any other relationship and I am certainly not being derogatory to the partner.

You can reward me however you wish regarding this post

Absolutely correct.

  • 1 month later...

One of the reasons I fell for my wife was that her confidence was untouchable. She was who she was and did what she did regardless of what people thought, while always being polite and doing it with a smile! LOL, I loved it!

All good here.

Not married yet, she gunna be a May bride.

We are happy as we are and do NOT wish to change each other.

Why would we, I wabba keep the girl I fell in love with.
