Ram Hospital Discount Card

Featured Replies

I was in Ram hospital today and when I was paying my bill I inquired about the advertised discount card that is displayed by the cashiers.

I was amazed when I was told that it was only 100 baht and is valid for 2 years. I was allowed to use it immediately and as my bill was 1,400 baht the 10% saving paid for the card. When I think about how much money I have spent over the years, I'm kicking myself for not finding out about the VIP card sooner.

Anyway, just wanted to share a good news story about Ram for once and let fellow TV's know about the VIP card.

Cheers :)

Good news. IMHO there is too much waiting around at Sripat Hospital and not enough of a savings. A discount at RAM removes any remaining doubt.

I must somehow got into the system as I never applied for a discount card. Just took a look at some of my last few bills and they show 10% discount on most items on it including medication. Example, a 3000 Baht stress test, 300 was subtracted from it. However, the labs don't seem to be discounted. Wonder if I apply I'll get 20% off? :)

Maybe they give a 10% good repeat customer discount after the 1st 100k baht per calendar year . :D

I've had the Ram VIP card for a few years now and all I've gotten a discount for is meds [which are way overpriced anyway], room discount, and laser treatment. Details are all in Thai and I just had the wife translate.

But that applies to all Ram's hospitals...which are a few in CM alone.

I will have to get one on my next visit

Anybody if I need to take passport or any ID

They didn't ask for any ID when I got mine a few days ago....

Its common practice with a lot of Thai hospitals to offer a discount card. The "offer" poster in RAM is quite prominent as you pay your bill at the counter.Ours has paid for itself many times over. Vejthani Hospital's loyalty /discount card in Bangkok used to cost 200 baht but if you had an accident, which was not your fault treatment was free . I got bitten by a soi dog riding my bike which necessiated 6 trips to the hospital for rabies shots and dressings. It cost me zip. Unfortuantly that offer has since been withdrawn and unlikely to pop up in any CM hospitals

You can only get the 10% discount if you buy your (very expensive ) medicines fro Ram. You save more not using the card and buying your medicine from the street corner chemist.
