Eeh It's Linda...

Featured Replies

The gal had a great set of pipes and a real way of putting over a song.

yeah...I became a big Linda fan when I worked in the woods in Oregon mid 70s because Linda was C&W and she was admired by lotsa folks that I worked with an' then I started to listen...

she can interpret lotsa stuff I remember including ballads by Kate and Anna McGarrigle and later with the Nelson Riddle orchestra and Rogers& Hammerstein also Buddy Holly, Neil Young...always wildly sentimental songs but I'm a goddam sentimentalist an' proud of it...

a few months ago I took some snaps of my grandson being held by my 15 y.o. niece one of which had her chin on top of his head, her mouth smiling and slightly open showing slightly crooked teeth with a distinct contour...I wondered where had I seen that before as it looked so familiar...I found out tonite when I saw the Linda album covers for the first time in 35 years on endure's first youtube video...same same...I always wanted to kiss them lips...the niece has since fled...

Linda always had an awkward stage presence...I remember when she sang at Jimmy Carter's inauguration, clumsily moving her hips and flailing about with her arms...now she performs in Las Vegas, oh, well...

'and when I grow too old to dream...your love will live in my heart...' old R&H from some musical with Nelson Riddle thundering at the end...always brings a tear when I think of those that I have loved...

if anyone can find anything more sentimentally wonderful than this please let me know...

them muppets coming up in the shadow behind the piano at the last chorus are the loves of lives past...

oh, boo hoo...I can't fcukin' stand it, the keyboard's gonna get all rusty... :) an' I'm serious, goddamit...

there ain't no use'n ignoring what we done...goddamit, we always break the hearts of those that love us...but when they pass on they always retain the best moments...

I shoulda been flayed a hundred times...but I was loved...
