Single-entry Student Visa, Change To Multiple?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've been browsing the board, but I cannot find a definite answer to my doubt. Any hint would be nice.

I recently got an ED single-entry visa for my 3-month internship in Thailand this summer. During this time I want to travel out of Thailand several weekends, will this be a problem? Can I change my visa to a multiple-entry one as I was told at the Thai consulate in NYC? How? I am a EU citizen, does this make any difference?

thanks a lot,

jt

A multiple entry re-entry permit attracts a fee of 3800 baht, or 1000 baht per entry.

If your study is only 3 months what you have is what you get. To travel you must obtain a re entry permit from immigration prior to leaving Thailand - this will have the same permitted to stay date as your current entry and you enter this stamp information in the visa section next time you enter Thailand. As said you can buy each or a multi entry type - for two entries each would be cheaper if it not too much bother to obtain twice.
