ukrules Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Just tell them nothing and they will never know. Always stay registered with your doctor.
Thongkorn Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Just tell them nothing and they will never know. Always stay registered with your doctor. Why not us Mugs that still live in The UK will pay.

Of course the payments the OP has made for most of his life count for nothing do they ? He's only been out of the country for 9 months which in my opinion is a holiday and he is still officially liable for all UK tax, etc.

You can receive free NHS hospital treatment if you:- * have been living legally in the UK for at least 12 months when you seek treatment, and did not come to the UK for private medical treatment. Temporary absences from the UK of up to three months are ignored * have come to the UK to take up permanent residence, for example, if you are a former UK resident who has returned from abroad, or if you have been granted leave to enter or remain as a spouse <snip> [My emphasis.] http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/nm/index/fam...from_abroad.htmDefine "permanent". : "Well, I thought I was going to stay once my quadruple by-pass was done, then I changed my mind." Maybe don't buy a return ticket back to Thailand when you go to the UK for treatment - a bit of a give-away.
