Im trying to keep a track of some good tunes, the kind that get played at country parties.

In particular, ones with the most simple videos and instruments.

The more video effects the better!

I don't know why, but I get all melancholy and pining to be in Thailand whenever I hear this sort of music.

Maybe not what you're looking for....not Thai country as such...

I find that if I want to find an authentic recipe....do the search in thai script.

Same goes for music. try putting this into a utube search. คืนนี้เหงาเท่ากันไหม

Thanks Harcourt! Good tune!

I get the same feeling, pining to be living in the countryside instead of this modern moobaan! Many a party spent entranced by karaoke videos out in the styx.

one day... one day...

might also be able to afford a mianoy by then... when in rome...

Played this one at my wedding. Something about being hungover.

lovely guitar in this one - almost like Sub Saharan African music, my 8 yrd old plays this song 20 times a day. :)

I was looking for a particular song by this girl....it starts with the sound of bycle bells.....and uses the Northern "dai ga" instead of "dai mai" in the chorus...I'll keep looking.

Got it...I like this song...has alot of memories from a road trip from Uttaradit to points all over.

The first Thai song I have ever heard, or actually listened to.

No idea what it is about, but the singer sounds good.

I can't stand fcukin' thai popular music...there's a guy that has his business across the street from our house an' pulls up every day around 6 p.m. with his stereo full blast...

he probably thinks that he's entertaining the neighborhood with his noise and has no conception of falang sensibilities regarding noise pollution...I thought about doing a 2x4 number on his windscreen but the neighbors think he's great so I'd lose...he also don't look like a bad sort of guy...

that issan horsey-horsey business is the worst but one of my nieces was a coyote dancer so I gotta be flexible...16 y.o. and very cute in hot pants and bare midriff, etc...she keeps me at arms length so OK but I do get a peck on he cheek sometimes... :)

What is "Issan horsey business" ?? :)

I dont know why, i love the clink clink of the wooden xylophone and the flute... and for some mad reason, I love the wavering notes these singers make...

as here:

of course the dancers in the vid above have something to do with it!!

The use if guitars like Russian Balalaikas is also great...

I think the western pop singers use electronic effects to get the same vocals ... the lazy swines...

yew know...clop clop horsey horsey...the percussion is heavy on the cowbell and is played widely at rural festive gatherings...

I haveta admit though that I saw a sister-in-law shakin' her booty to the music once and I almost lost control of meself...I'm convinced that it was a deliberate effort on her part as she doesn't get along with my wife...

nothin' to do wid me, of course... :D

That balalaika was awesome. I heard balalaika, guitar, banjo, and ukelele at various times.
