Living near Loei I am close to Laos border. Is there any way to get 2 mth visa without going to Vientienne (apologies if spelling wrong). Secondly is it worthwhile crossing at these points or should I simply go to friendship bridge near Udon.

Look forward to adivise from the Thai legends.

The official immigration office for Loei is Chiang Khan. You CANNOT go into Laos from there. Tha Li does have a border crossing but I have no idea if you can get a tourist visa there. I do know you can do the in and out there.
