I stayed up late last night and finally got golf live at 3am. I had forgotten how bad golf coverage from America was. At one point the comentator in the run up explained that the television viewing public would never realise how hard the first 8 holes were as they were very rarely shown.

Why is live golf from the Masters not given more time? If it was The Open you would generally get at least 8 hours live play on the first 2 days.

Augusta choose to offer limited TV coverage in order to preserve the 'mystique' of the tournament.

That said, it's available online live as soon as the first group reach the 10th. I have been streaming Amen Corner Live from about 21:45 onwards. You can get it from the BBC and/or the masters web site. You will need to VPN* out to the UK or US (respectively) though as the streams are blocked geographically.
