Q: Why do elephants drink so much?

A: To try to forget.

I can verify it works, too. (If I drink too many Carlsberg Elephants, I tend to forget...)

I feel for your love of the beasts and the incontinence must be a real worry ( I'll get my coat now )

^Lock the door on your way out. :)

I have a neighbour upstairs who thunders around at night - we have nicknamed him or her the baby elephant. Must wear those big doc martens boots. And he seems to move furniture at the same time. Rather interesting when you are trying to sleep. In the summer, with the windows open, I can hear him cough and have terrible nightmares. Shouting and swearing etc.

See, life in Switzerland is not all chocolate and fondue... Psychos abound.

^ I can appreciate your private hel_l. The first "home" I had after leaving the family home was the ground floor of a house that had been split into two apartments. The family upstairs had a little toddler who, as anyone who's watched toddlers walk, stomped around on his heels.

His name was Jack, or to give him his full title, Jack-if-you-do-that-one-more-time-I'll-smack-you. This name we often heard called out several times the last one followed quickly by Kerrraaaack! Whhaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm not the only one who's missing an elephant. I read a report on the Tory party manifesto yesterday where the comment was made that "nobody is talking about the elephant in the room". No bluddy wonder I'm thinking, I've lost the darned thing.

I get this romantic impression of you living in a beautiful old-world chalet in a small alpine village that looks over a picture-postcard scene of deep valleys and snow capped mountains. I suppose the reality is that you are in a boringly typical city apartment... :)

Yup!!

It's not that bad, there is a bit of greenery around and a nice courtyard outside where the kids play footy. But no lake view or alps view. I have to move at the end of July so may try and find somewhere a bit more picturesque.

Yes, some of the most stunningly beautiful scenery I've seen anywhere in the world. You should try for something five or six thousand feet higher up... :)

Sweetheart, NZ is very picturesque, with the added bonus that your's truly resides there.....

The last headline in the Post, when I left Thailand many years ago was:

Headline, 13/7/2004 - "Elephant from (A.I.D.S.) Meeting suspected in killing".

Gotta practice your yodelling first though.

You can do from an instruction book and a tape apparently. See Here :-

WOW! Thanks for that, LeungKen. That little gal has got it all: good looks, wonderful stage presence, remarkable skills and a wonderful freshness without being cloyingly sweet. She will go far.
