Hi David,

As far as i am aware there are no direct flights from chaing mai to china, i live in Guilin in china and always have to fly to either Guangzhou or hong kong to fly into bangkok.

A month or so ago there were rumors of a flight from CNX to Kunming. I forgot which airline was supposed to start that service. It wasn't on their website then and I haven't heard anything since.

Currently all flights to China are via Bangkok. Also have heard rumor of a direct flight, but no confirmation.

You can fly CNX to Korea, and onward to China,

or

CNX to Singapore and onward to China.

But one sector direct - nope !

Coming soon - !! as many things at CNX airport.

The government would be well served to allow MORE direct flights to and from CNX from/to overseas. :)

TG flew Chiang Mai - Kunming for years. Only stopped fairly recently.

And Bangkok Airways had a daily flight CNX to Jinghong.

Not much need for an international airport here now.

Air lines that fly to and from CNX.
