Hi,

Anyone recommend hotel or bungalow in Lamai, near (max 500m) the action but not right in it? Looking at 800-1200 baht in lo season. I've heard Bill resort is OK, is it? Last times I've been there I stayed in Best resort (rubbish) and Galaxy (expensive), but that was a while ago.

Cheers

Lamai Inn 99 search google for details, about 250 yds to main drag few lady bars on the way! on beach big selection of accommodation . I stayed in a nice room with great bathroom, good cable, air con and fridge for 900 bht goes from here to 1200bht in high season, with a nice patio area in a block, bungalows also available.

Avoid the Chillout Bungalows on Lamai beach at all costs, worse place I've ever stayed in, worst time I've ever had in my life. I was threatened by the Aussie owner, as was a Canadian mate of mine, if you knew what I knew about the place and the Australian guy who runs it you definitely wouldn't want to stay there. Please avoid this place and have a happy life......

Marina Villas or the Marina bungalows next door, a bit further out .

But I have to agree Lamai Wanta is a lot more modern with friendly staff, and a bit more central,
